IT’S been full steam ahead for staff at North Bay Railway who have raised thousands of pounds for Scarborough’s local children’s hospice.

Since the attraction’s 80th birthday celebrations in May, it has held a series of events including a summer barbecue and guest meet and greet evenings, resulting in £3,134.39 of funding for Martin House Children’s Hospice.

Ron O’Connor, chairman of the Scarborough Friends of Martin House, said: “Congratulations to all the staff for their untiring efforts and dedication.

“They played host on a couple of occasions to Archie Oliver, one of the children who benefits from the hospice, to the huge delight of the young boy. Families and staff involved with Martin House are extremely grateful when companies and their staff dedicate so much time and effort into fundraising.”
