CLOTHING, household goods, toys and books – all would be welcome by the Sue Ryder charity shop in Filey.

It has put out an appeal for donations to fill-out the stock in its Belle Vue Street branch.

“People are holding on to things which is understandable,” said manager Claire Taylor. “But we would be grateful for donations.”

The charity also has boxes it can deliver to businesses and other organisations to put in their staff rooms or foyers.

As well as it shops Sue Ryder has a number of events planned this year to swell coffers. The include Filey Bay Swim on Saturday July 28 and Starlight Hike at Sledmere House, Driffield, at 10.30pm.

For the Filey swim participants can chose a half-mile or a mile course.

Anyone interested in having a charity box delivered should call the shop on (01723) 516523. To register for the swim call: 01430 860 460. To sign up for the 10km walk call 01430 860460.
