Yorkshire Coat Homes has now been announced as the official charity for the McCain Yorkshire Coast 10k.

Following last year’s successful partnership, Yorkshire Coast Homes has been selected as the charity for the second consecutive year.

The charity subsidised the Fun Run for a number of schools in the area which offered 100 school children to take part in the fun run for free.

The 7th annual race event, organised by McCain Yorkshire Coast and Scarborough athletic club, will be held on Sunday October 11.

A record number of runners are expected to turn out for the event.

Corporate communications manager at McCain, Victoria Stephenson, said: “Yorkshire Coast Homes share this aim and we’re delighted that they will be helping more children in the town to take part in the Fun Run events.”

McCain supports the 10k race and Family Fun Run to encourage healthy, active lifestyles in the community.

Chief executive of Yorkshire Coast homes, Shaun Tymon said: “We’re delighted to be chosen once again as the charity of the McCain Yorkshire Coast 10k and Family Fun Runs. This year’s funding will be added to the scheme, enabling us to help more local people fulfil their sporting ambitions.”
