AN annual dinner hit the target in raising more than £150 for Saint Catherine’s Hospice.

A total of £155 was raised by Staxton Shooting Syndicate at their event.

The club chose to support the charity as its members said they were so grateful for all the work Saint Catherine’s Hospice does in the local community.

On hand to present the cheque to the hospice was shoot captain Terry Baker, Kath Baker and gundog Purdy.

Penny Campbell, fundraiser for Saint Catherine’s, said: “Kath Baker is one of the many regular volunteers at Saint Catherine’s Hospice without whom the staff would struggle to have the time to care for not just the patients but their families too.”

There are 700 volunteers in total for the charity, which has 12 shops, with approximately 250 volunteers in the Hospice and day Hospices.
