A SCARBOROUGH children’s charity helping youngsters meet with absent parents is celebrating a major milestone.
The Meeting Place Child Contact Centre, in Allatt House, is celebrating 10 years of service.
The centre, in West Parade Road, gives children the opportunity to meet with mothers and fathers following the breakdown of their parents’ relationship.
Last year, the service helped 57 children see parents in more than 100 sessions, giving more than 500 hours of valuable contact.
Helen Evans, volunteer manager at the centre, said she was delighted with its success.
She added: “We offer neutral environment for children and parents to meet and parents do not have to see each other.
“The rooms all have toys for them to share a few hours or improving the contact they already have.”
