FROM now on Scarborough Blues Club will be open three nights a week.
The club will continue to open on Tuesdays and Thursdays but from this week will also open every Friday.
The Friday sessions will allow the club to promote a wide variety of bands, playing more than just the blues, on a day when more people can stay up late and enjoy themselves.
“When we opened in 2008 we didn’t want to open at the weekend because we had no idea how popular the club would become,” says promoter Mark Horsley. “But we are now firmly established and confident enough to expand into the weekend. We have lined up some really good bands, including local favourites Stony and the Stefan Ward Band, but also some excellent bands from the York area and even lesser known international artists such as Ron Sayer Jnr. Many more are already lined up”.
To celebrate their third night, the club will hold an opening night party on Friday, featuring multi-award-winning guitarist Miles Gilderdale and his band.
Entry will cost £5 (or £3 for members) to include a buffet and a prize draw.
Tickets are not on sale in advance but can be reserved by calling Mark on 07956 925925.
