COASTIVAL fans can re-capture the spirit of the event at a picnic at Woodend on Sunday, from 1-5pm.
It will feature arts activities and music provided by DJ Tooley and friends, including southern fried soul, New Orleans-style R&B, blue-note jazz, reggae and funky summer tunes.
Organiser Wendy Clews said: “We had a summer picnic last year and it went down really well.
“Everyone is welcome; just turn up with a picnic and blanket (alcohol is allowed) and enjoy the afternoon”.
The second Coastival arts festival was held in February and doubled its attendance figure compared with the first event, in 2009.
Attendances at 120 events in 30 venues over three days were 19,851 – 120% more than the first Coastival.
Wendy estimates the impact on Scarborough’s economy at £361,584 - an increase of £146,001 on 2009.
No charge will be made for admission to the picnic.
