THREE concerts will be staged at Queen Street Central Hall over the next week.

The first, at 7.30pm tonight, is by Bramcote Chamber Choir, which recently performed in Salzburg, Austria.

Led and conducted by Sue Hartley, the choir features pupils up to the age of 13.

The second, at 7pm Saturday, features Castleford Young Musicians, with 60 musicians and singers aged 8-25.

Promoter Sheena Dunnington says: “We have a special bond with the young people as several members of our church once lived in Castleford and attended Trinity Methodist Church in the town”.

The church’s third concert is next Wednesday, at 7.45pm. On stage will be Manhattan Voices, a group of local solo performers who came together to perform as an ensemble in 2004.

Directed by Sue Hartley, they sing pieces from the shows, classics and popular items, with solos.
