An election will be held on Thursday 6 October to elect a councillor to the Filey Ward of Filey Town Council.

The three candidates standing for the vacancy are Marilyn Ann Anthony (Independent), Lee Kevin Crowley (UKIP) and John Patrick Thurston.

The polling station will be located in the Evron Centre on John Street, which will be open for normal polling hours from 7.00am until 10.00pm.

Applications to register to vote must be made by Tuesday 20 September. This can be done easily online at gov.uk/register-to-vote or alternatively people can contact the council’s Elections team for assistance by emailing electors@scarborough.gov.uk or calling 01723 232309 during normal office hours, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm.

The deadline for applying to vote by post is 5.00pm, Wednesday 21 September. The deadline for new applications to vote by proxy is 5.00pm, Wednesday 28 September. All postal and proxy vote requests must be made to the council’s Elections team.
