SERVICE users at social enterprise Basics Plus got into the festive spirit making Christmas handicrafts at a new workshop on the site.

Crafty Little Things recently opened at Betton Farm and owner Elaine Jenkins invited the adults to take part in a free workshop to create their own works of art to spread the festive cheer.

She said: “It was really good, everyone enjoyed creating lovely cups. They’re glazing and firing now and I’ll be donating them to the shop to sell.

“I wanted to involve service users at Basic Plus as it is a great way to create something unique in a pleasant a environment and there are also many tools to use that will enable people all ages and abilities to decorate and paint.”

Proceeds from the festive mugs will go to Basics Plus which helps people with learning disabilities find work.

Crafty Little Things is a mobile service open to the public, playgroups, residential homes, schools, groups and individuals.
