A 25-year-old man has been killed after he was hit by a lorry on the A64.
The pedestrian was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after the white and blue DAF lorry hit him in Sherburn on Friday night.
However, police confirmed that he died at Hull Royal Infirmary on Saturday morning.
Police say the victim was a local man, and that his family has been informed.
The road was closed in both directions for around four hours after the fatal incident, which occurred at around 7.45pm, eventually reopening just after midnight.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward to help them piece together what happened.
Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw anyone walking along the side of the carriageway prior to the incident, to get in touch with information.
Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to call 101 and ask for Traffic Sergeant Hamish Halloway.
