A SCARBOROUGH motorcyclist has been fined and issued penalty points..
Daniel Whigham, 23, of Herdborough Road, was charged with using a vehicle without insurance, driving without a licence, and using a vehicle with an MOT.
Scarborough Magistrates Court heard the case, in which Whigham pleaded guilty by post.
Prosecuting Martin Butterworth described how on July 24 at 1am a police officer on the B1261 near Lebberston saw a motorbike travelling at around 20 miles per hour, with the rider not in control.
Whigham, who was riding the bike, pulled over at which point the police officer pulled in behind him.
Whigham said he was due to take his test three days later, and that the man he had bought the bike off told him it had an MOT and was insured.
Magistrates fined Whigham £200 and ordered him to pay £45 costs and £15 victim surcharge.
He was also issued six penalty points.
