Boy injured after being hit by van

Police in Scarborough are investigating a collision involving a two-year-old boy and van.

It happened in Dean Road, near Swifts Chip Shop, at about 3.20pm today (Tuesday).

The boy suffered leg injuries and has been taken by ambulance to Scarborough District Hospital.

The driver of the white Ford Transit van, a 39-year-old man, was uninjured.

Traffic was disrupted until 4.05pm while officers carried out enquiries at the scene.
