POLICE have arrested a 26-year-old woman in Scarborough on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
The arrest was made in conjunction with a shooting at High Garth, Eastfield, on Saturday.
The woman was arrested by officers at an address on Seamer Road at around 8.40am today and remains in police custody for questioning.
The 36-year-old man who was injured in the incident remains in hospital where he is recovering after surgery to repair a gunshot wound to his leg. His condition is described as improving.
A man who police have been looking for in connection with the incident remains outstanding and extensive enquiries are ongoing throughout the Scarborough area to trace him.
Officers have increased patrols in the Eastfield area to offer reassurance to local residents.
Police are still appealing to anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
