Christmas in lock-up for accused

A MAN who is alleged to have committed a series of offences in Helmsley will spend Christmas behind bars.

Daniel Cook, 24, was remanded in custody by Scarborough magistrates yesterday.

Cook, of Totnes, Devon, is alleged to have inflicted grievous bodily harm and assaulted the same women on two separate occasions.

He is also alleged to have breached a restraining order on two occasions.

Cook has not yet entered pleas in relation to the charges.

The case will be heard at York Crown Court.

The next hearing in the case will take place in Scarborough on January 16.
