A SCARBOROUGH man has been remanded in custody following an alleged incident where he inflicted grievous bodily harm.

Kieran Paul Cassidy, 24, of Albemarle Crescent, is said to have committed the offence against another male at Barwick Terrace on December 8.

He denied the charge during a previous hearing at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court and the matter is due to be committed to Crown Court.

Prosecutor Catherine Turnbull asked magistrates to remand the defendant in custody until he appears again for committal proceedings.

She added that Cassidy was already on bail for affray when the alleged offence of grievous bodily harm was committed.

The case was adjourned and Cassidy was remanded in custody until January 13.
