DETECTIVES in Scarborough are appealing for information following the arrest of two men in connection with a burglary in the town.

It took place at an address on Ramsey Street, between 5am and 9.15am on Saturday.

The burglars broke into the house by damaging the back door before stealing property. The thieves stole two Nikon digital cameras, a Sony digital camera and video camera, two mobile telephones, a HTC Desire HD and a Vodafone, in its car charger. They also stole three TomTom satellite navigation systems, the models of which are a 1 XL, G70 and Go 100. Also taken was a laptop computer, cash and personal documents.

Two local men aged 33 and 39 were arrested in connection with the burglary. They are currently in custody.

Detective Constable Tim Bentley, of Scarborough CID, said: “I am particularly keen to speak to the owners of second hand shops who may have been offered the stolen items.”
