Scarborough Police is appealing for a driver to come forward after a man fell of his scooter in Eastfield last week.

The red car was travelling along Caymer Road and pulled out into Herdborough Road At around 5.40pm on Thursday.

The scooter rider was travelling along Herdborough Road and although no contact was made between the vehicles, he had to brake sharply, resulting in him falling off his machine.

The rider, a 19-year-old man from Scarborough, was treated at hospital for a broken wrist.

Police are appealing to the driver of the car and any witnesses to the incident to contact them.

Investigating officer PC Tim Welford, of Scarborough Police, said: “As there was no impact between the two vehicles, it’s possible that the driver of the red car is unaware that the scooter rider fell off. It’s important that the driver contacts us a soon as possible.”
