Drugs found hidden in ice cream container

POLICE in Scarborough investigating a suspicious ice cream container made a shock discovery yesterday.

A substantial amount of a white substance, believed to be amphetamine, was found in the container, which was hidden in an alley between Candler Street and Wooler Street.

An intelligence officer said: “Scarborough Police recovered a substantial quantity of controlled drugs after being alerted to a suspicious package by a vigilant member of the public.

“The drugs were found in an ice cream carton which was hidden.

“The drugs have been sent for forensic examination.”
