Jewellery attack: two given bail

TWO men have been charged in connection with a robbery at a Scarborough jewellers, police have confirmed.

Rosh Jewellers, in Huntriss Row, was targeted by raiders in December.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said the pair have been bailed to appear at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on Friday May 27.

David Haywood, the shop’s popular manager, was injured in the attack.

He managed to trigger the alarm, which released smoke into the shop as the robbers fled.

Following the incident the Evening News offered a £100 reward for information leading to the successful prosecution of those responsible.
