Man admits drug charge

A SCARBOROUGH man who was found in possession of cannabis after police executed a warrant at his home will carry out unpaid work.

Andrew Deighton, 31, of Grange Avenue, admitted the charge at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court.

Five small bags of the drug were found by police on July 29.

Marcus Topham, mitigating, said three bags contained only residual traces of cannabis.

Deighton will complete 50 hours of unpaid work and pay £85 costs.
