A Scarborough man has appeared in court facing 18 charges relating to indecent images of children.
David Anthony Ulliott, 67, of New Parks Crescent, communicated during the hearing at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court with the assistance of a registered British sign language interpreter.
The charges consist of 16 counts of making indecent images and two counts of posession.
The offences happened in Filey on various dates going back to 2005.
Ulliott pleaded guilty to all 18 charges against him.
Catherine Turnbull, prosecuting, told the court that 430 images had been found which were between level one and four on the Copine scale, which measures the severity of indecent images.
There were also 19 videos, classified as level two to five, involving children as young as one year old.
Miss Turnbull said: “Due to the seriousness of the levels this case should really be committed to the crown court for sentence.”
Magistrates agreed and the case was committed to York Crown Court for sentencing on September 28.
