A SCARBOROUGH man yesterday denied committing sexual offences involving a child.

Gary Marshall, 41, of Hinderwell Road, is accused of inciting or causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity and two charges of sexually assaulting a child under 13.

Marshall is alleged to have committed the offences between July 2006 and July 2009 in Scarborough.

Scarborough magistrates denied jurisdiction and said Marshall’s trial would take place at York Crown Court.

Committal proceedings are scheduled to take place at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on February 23.

Marshall, who was represented by Peter Maynard, was released on conditional bail after the short hearing.
