A SCARBOROUGH man who argued with police officers helping an injured man has appeared in court.
Ryan Mitchell, 23, of Albemarle Crescent, pleaded guilty to using threatening words and behaviour to an officer in St Helen’s Square, following an incident last month.
Mitigating, Marcus Topham said: “There is no suggestion that alcohol was involved here and he was walking past and said the comment was made to his friend but perhaps over loudly.
“The officer told him to button his mouth and he has then become involved in a brief argument with the officer.
“He has made concerted efforts to improve his behaviour.”
Magistrates gave Mitchell a six-month conditional discharge and ordered him to pay £85 costs.
