A DRUNKEN man stole a child’s tricycle and rode it around a street, Scarborough magistrates heard yesterday.
Damian Hunter, 25, of Westbourne Grove, admitted taking a pedal cycle without consent.
The court heard that he broke a lock before taking the little girl’s tricycle for a ride in Trafalgar Road on August 12.
Katy Varlow, prosecuting, said Hunter was still sitting on the trike when police caught up with him.
Marcus Topham, mitigating, said: “His intention was to have a prankish ride. He was the worse for drink.”
Hunter was fined £70, will pay costs of £85, a £15 victim surcharge and £10 in compensation for the lock.
