TWO Scarborough teenagers have appeared before a crown court in relation to an alleged attempted armed robbery.

Matthew Gee, 18, of Falsgrave Road, and a 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before York Crown Court yesterday in connection with events at the West End Garage in Seamer Road on October 16.

The pair both appeared on charges of attempted robbery and possession of a firearm.

Neither defendant entered a plea during the short hearing.

The pair will next appear before the York court on November 14, when they are expected to enter their pleas.

A provisional date for a two day trial on any not guilty pleas was set at the hearing for November 28.

Gee was remanded in custody and the 16-year-old was remanded to a secure training centre.
