Police in Ryedale are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision near Pickering.

A Mitsubishi Carisma came off the A169 near the Lockton junction and came to rest in a ditch at the side of the road.

One of the three occupants of the vehicle, a woman from the West Yorkshire area, suffered minor injuries in the incident on Wednesday, July 10, at 3.50pm.

The driver and their 18-month-old grandson were uninjured.

Officers would like to trace the driver of a small blue vehicle, with two white stripes down the side, which attempted to overtake the Mitsubishi just prior to the collision.

It is believed that the driver of the vehicle may have information vital to the investigation.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for PC Andy Rogers or Ryedale police.

Alternatively, information can be emailed to andy.rogers@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
