Police appeal for witnesses

Police are appealing for a ‘vital witness’ to come forward after a 24-year-old man was attacked in Ramshill Road.

The occured between 7.45pm and 7.50pm on Friday, November 9 when the victim was walking along the road near to the junction with Royal Avenue when he was approached from behind by another man.

When he turned he was head-butted and punched in the face suffering severe cuts and bruising. The victim sought refuge in a nearby fish and chip shop before being taken to hospital by ambulance.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them, in particular, a man with a young child who was in the area at the time and could have vital information.

A 23-year-old Scarborough man has been arrested and released on bail.
