SCARBOROUGH police are appealing for help to catch a wanted man.

Jeremy Peter Barron, 29, from Staintondale, is wanted after a warrant was issued for his arrest after he failed to appear at court charged with robbery.

Barron allegedly stole cash and a mobile phone from a 54-year-old man, after assaulting him outside the Golden Last pub, in Eastborough, in February. The victim suffered a head injury in the incident.

Inspector Tony Quinn, from Scarborough Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “Barron is suspected of a serious offence and is avoiding attending court to face up to the charge brought against him. I am appealing to the public to help us find him.”
