Police are hunting four teenaged boys after a jar of pasta sauce was thrown at a car in Scarborough.

The boys were seen running away from King Street Car Park after the windscreen of a red Citroen C2 was cracked with a jar of Dolmio tomato and garlic sauce at around 5.55pm on Friday 16 August 2013.

Officers are appealing to anyone who saw the boys in the area at the time of the incident and have released their descriptions in an effort to trace them.

The first boy is white with dark hair. He was wearing a blue tracksuit top, grey tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.

The second boy is described as white with brown hair. He was wearing a black hooded-top, a white t-shirt, dark-coloured trousers and dark-coloured trainers.

The third boy is described as white with dark hair. He was wearing a black tracksuit with stripes down the sides and white trainers.

The fourth boy is described as white with blond or light ginger hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt, light-coloured trousers, and a white and blue hooded top.

Anyone who can help officers to identify the suspects is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for PC Lee Ridsdale or Scarborough police.
