Sometime between 5pm and 5.15pm on Saturday June 30, 15 vehicles were targeted on Asquith Avenue, Milton Avenue, and Roseberry Avenue. A further three vehicles were damaged on the forecourt of the Arundle’s Peugeot garage on Seamer Road.
Officers have been making extensive enquiries in the area and are appealing for the public to help them identify the person responsible.
PC Huw Walkey, of Scarborough police, said: “A large number of residents were left out of pocket and inconvenienced by this incident and I am appealing to the public to help us identify the offender.
“The damage occurred at a time when there will have been plenty of people around I am confident that someone may have seen something which can help the investigation.
“If you know who is responsible or saw anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident, I urge you to contact the police or Crimestoppers with information.”
Anyone who can help the police with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for Huw Walkey or Scarborough police.
