Police investigate Falsgrave purse theft

Scarborough police are appealing for information after a burglary and theft at a bookies.

It occurred at the Betfred bookmakers in Falsgrave Road, between 5.30pm and 6pm on Saturday, December 14, though police have just today released the information about the month old crime

A man distracted a member of staff as a woman entered a staff only part of the premises and stole two purses.

The man is described as being in his late 20s, white, 5ft 7in tall, with a slim build and short fair hair. He has acne on his face. He was wearing a black jacket, dark t-shirt and jeans.

The woman is in her early 20s, with a slim build and dark hair, worn in a pony tail. She also has a piercing in her face.

PC Simon Garnett, of Scarborough Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If you know who committed this burglary or have any information which could help my enquiry, I ask that you get in touch straight away.”
