Police search for smash and grab laptop thief

A burglar smashed the window of a Scarborough computer shop and escaped with two laptops.

Police are appealing for information after the offender was seen committing the theft at PC Works, on Victoria Road.

Officers have released details of the crime, which happened on Sunday, August 26, between 12.50am and 1.05am.

The suspect is described as white, aged in his 20s and 5ft 6in with dark hair. He was wearing a dark coloured coat with white piping on the shoulders and black jogging bottoms.

After smashing the window he was spotted running off down an alley way with the Dell 610 and Sony laptops.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, can help identify the suspect or has been offered the computers for sale is being urged to contact police on 101. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
