Allen is wanted by police in connection with the death of Whitby woman Julie Davison, 50, on Wednesday, and Colin Dunford, 81, from Middlesbrough.

Another police van was parked in Hanover Road, with officers believed to be taking evidence from the hotel and pictures of buildings.

It is not known whether Allen, originally from Blackpool, stopped in any other property.

Allen was also reportedly seen in Lord Rosebery’s pub, in Westborough, on Wednesday, just hours after Mrs Davison’s death.
