Scarborough bookies theft: images of suspects released

Police have released CCTV images of two men suspected of stealing an iPhone from a bookmakers in Scarborough.

The two men entered Ladbrokes on St Nicholas Street at around 7.30pm on Monday, October 14, and one of them distracted a cashier by asking for assistance on one of the gaming machines.

While the cashier was occupied the other man is suspected of taking a black iPhone 5 from behind the cash desk.

News of the incident was released by the force for the first time on Tuesday

Officers are now appealing to anyone who recognises the suspects to contact them with information.

Anyone who can help with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for PC Darrel Temple or Scarborough police.
