A CONSULTANT anaesthetist from Scarborough has been banned from the roads after he admitted driving at more than 100 miles-per-hour.
Jonathan Crowson, 43, of Grosvenor Road, told a police officer “we’re just off to York to do some shopping,” after he was pulled over at around 1pm on August 21.
Martin Butterworth, prosecuting, said the Audi R8 was travelling at 102 miles-per-hour at Whitwell near Malton.
Crowson said: “It was a new car and I did not realise how fast I was going. I am aware of the perils of speeding.”
Crowson, who works at both Scarborough and Bridlington Hospitals, was banned for seven days. He will also pay a £600 fine, £45 costs a £15 victim surcharge.
