Suspected cannabis farm found by police

A SUSPECTED cannabis farm was discovered in Scarborough thanks to the vigilance of members of the public.

Police were informed that people had been seen apparently entering a property in Bracken Hill in Barrowcliff through a window.

After the suspicious activity was reported to the police, they responded by searching the property.

Plants, suspected to be cannabis, were discovered inside the home.

The householder was arrested on suspicion of production of a controlled drug at the Bracken Hill address.

The report was made to the police at lunchtime on Christmas Eve.

A spokesperson for Scarborough Police thanked members of the public for supplying the information.

Tackling drug offences has been classed as a high-priority area for police in Scarborough, and they have said they rely on members of the public to supply information.
