POLICE in Scarborough are investigating after copper piping was stolen from the roof of a van.

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the theft, which took place in Albion Road car park at around 10pm on Monday April 4, to come forward.

A suspect took six lengths of piping from storage tubes situated on the roof of the van, a silver Renault Traffic, which was parked in the middle of the car park.

The suspect then made off in the direction of St Martin’s Square.
