TWO men and a woman have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Eastfield.

The first arrest – of a 26-year-old woman – was made at 8.40am yesterday at an address in Seamer Road, Scarborough.

She was arrested and held for questioning on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

At 1.20pm police arrested a 28-year-old man at a property in New Queen Street on suspicion of attempted murder.

A 51-year-old man was also detained on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three are being held for questioning.

The 36-year-old man who was injured in Saturday’s incident was initially taken to Scarborough Hospital and has now been transferred to another hospital, the location of which is being kept under wraps.

He is recovering after surgery to repair a gunshot wound to his leg. His condition was improving.

Police are continuing to search for the weapon which was used in the incident.

Extra police patrols are in force across Eastfield to help reassure residents.

Police are still appealing to anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

It happened at around 5.30pm on Saturday at a property in High Garth, Eastfield.
