Vandals target cars in Northstead

Scarborough police are appealing for the public’s help to identify a group of youths after a number of cars were damaged in the town.

Wing mirrors and paint work were damaged just before 11pm on Tuesday as the group walked along Fieldside, Northstead.

One member of the group, which was described as including one girl and three teenage boys, was caught on CCTV kicking one of the cars.

PC Alan Robson, of Scarborough Police, said: “This was an act of utterly pointless vandalism. I ask anyone who can help to identify members the group responsible to come forward. I would also like to speak to anyone else who may have had their car damaged and has not yet reported it to the police and ask them to make contact.”

Anyone with information is being urged to call police on 101, press option 2 and ask for Alan Robson. Alternatively information can be emailed to alan.robson@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
