Warning after bike is stolen

POLICE have issued a warning after a bike was stolen in Scarborough.

The BMX, with a blue frame, black handlebars and black wheels, was taken from an address in Ling Hill, Newby, between midnight and 8am on Saturday.

PC Jon Sygrove, of Scarborough Police, said: “I would like to advise members of the public to check any outbuildings or sheds for damage.

“All property should be secured inside making it as difficult as possible for thieves to steal items.

“Where possible security lighting, shed alarms and garage alarms should be installed.”
