SCARBOROUGH police have warned residents to be vigilant and lock out thieves following two burglaries in the town.
Thieves forced open a window to steal a television from one property, with a television and games console taken from another home after a window was smashed.
Police have now reminded homeowners to lock all doors, windows and cars.
Det Ch Insp Steve Smith, from North Yorkshire Police, said: “Thieves are opportunist and will be on the look out for insecure doors and windows and will take the first opportunity given.”
He added since the start of 2012, the force have made more than 140 arrests in connection with burglaries.
