A Scarborough beautician has appeared before magistrates charged with 12 counts of fraud for unlawfully administering an anti-ageing drug.

Jamie Winter, 34, appeared at Hull Magistrates Court yesterday charged with fraud by false representation by claiming to be a person qualified and authorised to administer Botox.

The brunette arrived at the court wearing sunglasses and a head scarf in an effort to disguise her face from photographers.

Ms Winter, of Westbourne Road, was told to attend the court for the charges to be publicly put to her.

Although the chairman of magistrates was waiting to hear the case, Ms Winter did not make an appearance in the dock.

It was put to the court that the necessary file detailing the allegations had not reached the Crown Prosecution Service or the defendant from York Police Station.

The case was adjourned and Ms Winter was bailed and is due to appear before the court again on Wednesday.

She has yet to enter pleas to any of the charges.
