A SCARBOROUGH woman has been sentenced after she harassed her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend.
Leanne Shelbourne, 20, of Kealia Court, pleaded guilty to harassment at an earlier hearing.
Scarborough Magistrates’ Court heard that she sent unwanted Facebook messages, texts and a voicemail.
The offences occurred between December 1 last year and April 4.
In a statement, Shelbourne’s ex-boyfriend said he found the messages, many of which were abusive, “very upsetting”.
Franklyn Garvey, mitigating, said: “She has very much learned her lesson.”
Shelbourne was given a community order with a supervision requirement and will complete a thinking stills course. A six-month restraining order was also imposed.
