PEOPLE of all ages are invited to attend a major event being hosted by Age Concern at Scarborough’s Spa Complex.
The event, entitled Xtra Life 50+, will take place on Monday October 3, from 10am to 4pm.
Admission is free and everyone is welcome to attend, no matter what your age.
It is being officially opened by cricketing legend Dickie Bird MBE at 11am.
The event is aimed at giving advice and information on health and wellbeing, finance, legal matters, exercise and fitness, eating and diet.
There will be around 45 exhibitors, including gyms, opticians, solicitors, emergency services, alternative therapies and health charities.
Visitors can also enjoy demonstrations of yoga, Zumba fitness, tai chi and armchair exercise.
There will also be a question and answer session with Dickie Bird at 2pm in the Sun Court suite.
Tim Marshall, events organiser at Age Concern, said the event would mark Age Concern Scarborough and District becoming known as Age UK Scarborough and District.
He said: “Even though we are a charity dedicated to older people, anyone of any age is more than welcome to attend.
“It promises to be a great event, with a big selection of exhibitors.”
The event will be on all day from 10am to 4pm in the Sun Court (inside and outside) and Promenade Lounge.
Mr Marshall also wished to thank all the organisations who are supporting the event.
Invited guests include the mayor of Scarborough, John Blackburn, and Lady Heather Ayckbourn.
Dianne Jeffrey, chairman of Age UK, will also be at the event.
