A SCARBOROUGH college is celebrating “stunning” results as more than two thirds of students achieve a Distinction on their course.

As a result it was all smiles at Scarborough Sixth Form College on BTEC results day the majority of students left the college with the highest grade you can achieve on a BTEC course.

A BTEC Distinction is the equivalent of attaining an A at A Level.

The College offers five BTEC subjects; Media, Sport, Travel and Tourism, Health and Social Care and Business, which over the last three years have become more popular with students.

Local and regional employers have also been heavily involved in helping the students, offering work placements for Health and Social Care and Travel and Tourism.

A college spokesperson said: “We are so grateful for the help local employers provide, not only for the placements but also for visits and guest speakers they provide throughout the academic year.”
