TWO local business proprietors are taking a daredevil approach to raise funds for charity.

Jane Pickup who runs the Daisy Teamrooms has teamed up with friend Mandy North of Salon 27 to do a 10,000ft tandem skydive at Grindale next month, to raise money for St Catherine’s Hospice.

Mrs Pickup said: “Mandy had a friend who recently died of cancer, this came along and she decided to do it, and because it was for St Catherine’s Hospice - we’re so lucky to have it for such a small town.

“I feel nervously excited, Mandy’s the same, but we egg each other on.

“I’m most petrified about when the doors open and I’m sitting on the edge, after that I think I’ll be fine.

“It’s something I’ve always wanted to. I’m 56 now, so I don’t want to leave it much longer!”

If anyone is interested in sponsoring the women, Mandy is taking collections at Salon 27 in Queen Street, and Jane at Daisy Tea Room or the Rosette in Scalby Road.
