SPORTING youngsters from three Scarborough schools showed off their athletic prowess during a multi-sports event.
The Year Three children from Gladstone Road Junior School, St Martin’s School and St George’s School tested themselves in a range of activities including obstacle courses, cup and saucer races and bean bag throwing competitions.
The contest, held at Bramcote School, was organised by University of Hull Scarborough Campus Education Studies students Alexandra Knight, Fliss Robinson, Lisa Bray and Sports and Business student Beth Taylor.
The quartet laid on the fun as part of the event management module of their work and Miss Knight said the day had proved a great hit with all of the pupils.
She said: “It went really well and all of the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and had lots of fun.
“We split them into colour-coded teams and for each activity there was an individual winner but all of the winning team got a medal too.
“There were also certificates given to all teachers to give to pupils who took part so all of the children had something to show for the day.
“We also had a raffle so the children could get some extra prizes.
“We were really happy with how it went, at the beginning we thought multi-skills would combine our studies well and we were delighted to put something forward that helped that.”
