Eager pupils are looking to come out top of the class and also do their bit for charity as part of an entrepreneurial cash challenge.
Year 6 boys Harry Jaconelli, Adam Lowde and Jack Jones, of St Martin’s School (pictured), are getting ready to turn into top traders at a fundraising table top sale taking place at Westborough Methodist Church this Saturday, October 27.
The event runs from 10am-1pm and all are welcome to come and seek out a bargain in aid of good causes.
Each youngster is armed with £5 from the school as part of the class challenge, and must invest this to try to make a larger sum for St Martin’s chosen charity - a school in Bungoma -and a charity of their own choice, in this case Westborough Church, which is allowing the young cubs to use the hall for free.
Whatever the outcome, the youngsters must repay £5 to the school, plus any additional earnings.
Naturally, to avoid losing their pocket money, the children are hoping for as many people as possible to come along and show their support this weekend.
They will be selling an array of toys and games, while other tables, booked by parents, are set to offer household goods, aerial photographs of Scarborough, natural health products and gifts, a cake stall and more.
Entry to the table top sale is 50p and includes a drink and biscuit. 124234
