A BUDDING Scarborough chef enjoyed the sweet taste of success after serving up a feast of culinary delights in a successful gourmet evening.
Richard Proctor, an apprentice student at Yorkshire Coast College, hosted an event for fellow students and guests to showcase his skills as he works towards a Level Three Hospitality course qualification.
Mr Proctor, a UK Seafood Regional heats winner and Level Three Advanced Apprentice, laid on a feast at the college’s Fledlings Restaurant during a function he has been planning since October last year.
Producing his own style of menu, researching costs and holding scores of briefings to ensure the evening flowed smoothly, Mr Proctor’s diligence was praised by Rob Clark, the college’s Hospitality tutor, who said he fully expected him to succeed in the culinary world.
He said: “Richard’s professionalism throughout the process has been outstanding and he has really set a high standard of work and attitude for the rest of the chefs.
“Richard offered support, guidance and leadership qualities to the all the Level Three chefs and Level One waiters and waitresses who expressed their enjoyment of working in such a professional kitchen, which is a total credit to him.
“I have no doubt that Richard has a very bright and exciting future in our industry.’’
